Genesis | Unbridled Wickedness

 Genesis 6: 1 Thru 8

Fall Study: Genesis 1 Through Genesis 11:

Most Recently:

Mankind Receives Grace In Judgment:

Takeaway: Be On Guard Of Our Tendency To Rationalize Disobedience And Shift Blame.

Antagonistic Unbelief:

Takeaway: The Impact Of Sin On The Human Race Is Obvious.

Man's Way Or God's Way:

Takeaway: Go Your Own Way In Rebellion To God OR Call On The Name Of The Lord.

Reign Of Death:

Takeaway: There Is Hope Of Eternal Life In Heaven For Those Who Walk With God.

Today: Unbridled Wickedness.

Some Of The Topics In The Next Few Weeks:

Judgment By Water.

Preserving Life And Creation.

Curse Or Blessing.

And More.

WHEN WE EXPLORE THE ACCOUNT OF THE FLOOD:

Keep In Mind Who Will Be The Audience.

The Intended Audience Of Moses: 15th Century BC Hebrews.

They Are Coming Out Of Bondage In Egypt.

So, The Purpose: What Would They Understand This Scripture To Mean.

KEY TAKEAWAY:

SINCE THE FALL:

MANKIND IS BORN WITH A DEPRAVED SIN NATURE.

MANKIND DOES NOT SEEK GOD.

CHAPTER 6:

VERSES 1-4: THE SONS OF GOD AND THE NEPHILIM.

VERSES 5-7: YAHWEH GIVES THE PURPOSE AND EXTENT OF THE FLOOD.

VERSE 8: NOAH ALONE FINDS FAVOR WITH YAHWEH.

VERSES 1-4 THE SONS OF GOD AND THE NEPHILIM.

PEOPLE BECOME EVIL:

WHO ARE THE SONS OF GOD AND THE DAUGHTERS OF MEN?

The Three Primary Views On The Identity Of The Sons Of God Are:

1) They Were Fallen Angels,

2) They Were Powerful Human Rulers,

3) They Were Godly Descendants Of Seth Intermarrying With Wicked Descendants Of Cain.

AFTER REVIEWING PROS AND CONS OF THESE VIEWS:

The Best Explanation Seems To Be:

-The SONS OF GOD Were Fallen Angels (Demons) Which Possessed Men.

-The DAUGHTERS OF MEN As Probably Lewd Women.

-The NEPHILIM WERE The Offspring Of This Relationship.

Corrupt Depraved Demonic Activity.

The Result Was A Race Of Fallen Ones.

The Bible:

Refers To Angels:

As Sons Of God In The Old Testament.

As Sexless.

And To Fallen Angels As Demons.

As Spiritual Beings Not Humans.

As Being Able To Appear In Human Form. Ex: In Sodom.

However:

The Emphasis In Genesis 6:

Focused On Sin Of Man And Not Rebellion Of Angels.

Coming Judgment Was Based On Sin Of Humans.

Focuses On Those Who Called Upon His Name.

To Protect The Line Of Seth For The Provision Of The Coming Seed Of The Women.

GOD HAD TO BRING JUDGMENT UPON MANKIND.

MANKIND SHOULD CALL UPON THE LORD

BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE TO BE SAVED.

VERSES 1-4 THE SONS OF GOD AND THE NEPHILIM.

NOW: VERSES 5-7 YAHWEH GIVES THE PURPOSE AND EXTENT OF THE FLOOD.

This Section Describes The Sad State Of Planet Earth.

Mankind Was Intended To Take Dominion Of The Earth.

Mankind Was Incapable Of Taking Dominion.

Mankind Turned To Pure Wickedness.

Mankind Was Greatly Influenced By Demons.

Yahweh Looks At His Creation:

God Sees Mankind Thinking And Doing Evil Constantly.

God Was Grieved In His Heart.

God Was Sorry He Had Made Them.

God Determined To Blot Them Off The Face Of The Earth.

God Gave Them 120 Years Until His Impending Judgment.

POINT: THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THAT JUDGMENT:

TO BLOT OUT WICKED MAN

FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH

VERSES 1-4: THE SONS OF GOD AND THE NEPHILIM.

VERSES 5-7: YAHWEH GIVES THE PURPOSE AND EXTENT OF THE FLOOD.

NOW: CHAPTER 6: VERSE 8: NOAH ALONE FINDS FAVOR WITH YAHWEH.

Our Creator Has Ordained All Things (Rom. 11:36).

Our Creator Knows The Future Fully.

FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF MANKIND:

Unanticipated Circumstances To Us:

- Can Make Us Change Our Minds.

- But Divine “Change” Is Never Due To Such Things.

- It Can Appear That God Has Changed His Mind.

FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF GOD:

God’s “Change Of Mind”:

It Is Never Based On A Future Unknown To Him.

It Is The Revealed Will Of God:

Knowing Noah's Response.

Taking That Response Into Account.

God Full And Revealed Will Is Being Unfolded.

Having Purposed To Destroy All Flesh.

The Lord Is About To “Alter” His Plan.

Because One Man Is Faithfully Keeping Covenant.

Noah Finds Favor In God’s Eyes:

This Favor Will Temper God's Announced Judgment.

The Lord’s Relationship With Us Is Dynamic.

He Always Takes Our Actions Into Account.

Jeremiah 18:1–11: Plainly Teaches:

God Can Appear To Alter His Will:

God Withholds Declared Blessings.

His Pronouncements Are Designed To Elicit Obedience.

He Pours Out His Grace Depending On Heeding His Word.

God Remains Consistent With His Nature:

The Lord Can Only Be True To His Holiness.

He Can Withhold A Reward He Has Pledged To Us

Even Before We Ceased To Be Obedient To Him.

God Always Knew He Would Save Noah.

God Knew His Pledge To Destroy All Men Was To Drive Mankind To Repentance.

His Foreknowledge Is Not Recorded Specifically Here. Moses Shows How God Rewards Righteousness.

Noah’s Story Exhibits What Jeremiah Taught:

Divine Judgment Can Be Averted By Repentance.

The Lord Always Knows:

How We Will Respond To Him Beforehand.

But He Does Not Often Reveal This Knowledge To Us.

So Rather Than Worrying About His Hidden Will:

We Need To Obey His Revealed Word,

We Need To Remember He Has Ordained All Things.

We Are Responsible For Our Devotion To Him.

Again: KEY TAKEAWAY:

SINCE THE FALL:

MANKIND IS BORN WITH A DEPRAVED SIN NATURE.

MANKIND DOES NOT SEEK GOD.

Genesis | Man's Way Or God's Way

 Genesis 4: 17 Thru 26.

Fall Study: Genesis 1 Through Genesis 11:

Most Recently:

Mankind Receives Grace In Judgment.

Antagonistic Unbelief.

Today: Man's Ways Or God's Ways.

Some Of The Topics In The Next Few Weeks:

Reign Of Death.

And More.

KEY TAKEAWAY:

IT IS A CHOICE:

GO YOUR OWN WAY IN REBELLION TO GOD.

OR.

CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD.

I. MAN’S WAY (4:17-24).

A. CAIN’S LINE AND ACTIVITY (4:17-22).

B. LAMECH AND THE DEPTHS OF SIN (4:23-24).

II. GOD’S WAY (4:25-26).

A. GOD GIVES ADAM ANOTHER SON (4:25-26A).

B. WORSHIP OF THE LORD (4:26B).

INTRODUCTION:

A. When Cain Was Cursed By God, A Mark Was Placed On Him.

He Was To Wander Over The Earth In A Meaningless Existence.

From Cain Comes An Ungodly Seed That Is Antagonistic To God.

B. Cain Becomes The First Founder Of Civilization.

This Civilization Is Characterized By Ungodliness.

It Is A Culture Built On Man Rather Than God.

I. MAN’S WAY (4:17-24).

A. CAIN’S LINE AND ACTIVITY (4:17-22).

THE UNGODLY SEED OF CAIN 4:17:

Genesis 4:17: Key Phrase/Words: Knew His Wife | Enoch | City.

His Wife Was Probably One Of Adam’s Daughters.

Although It Could Have Been A Later Descendant.

The Population Could Grow To Many Thousands During His Life.

The Wife Of Cain Was Of Necessity His Sister,

Though This Was Forbidden In After Times,

For Wise And Holy Reasons,

When The Necessity No Longer Existed.

Cain Named His Son Enoch: Means: Dedication.

Probably Signifying The Start Of A New Manner Of Life.

A Fort Or Shelter Is Built Indicating True Civilization.

No Indication It Took Many Generations To Advance.

A Patriarchal Clan Where Cain Built A Shelter For Enoch.

CAIN’S MATERIALISTIC SOCIETY (4:18-22):

Genesis 4:18: Key Word: Lamech.

Enoch Had Several Sons: The Possible Meaning Of These Names Are: Townsman, God Gives Life, Man Of God.

Lamech, The Youngest: Means Conqueror.

Genesis 4:19: Key Phrase/Words: Two Wives | Adah And Zillah.

Lamech Rebelled Against The Divine Command Of God.

Lamech Entered Into The Practice Of Polygamy.

The CAIN-itic Became More Openly Rebellious Against God.

Wife 1: Adah: Means Beauty.

Wife 2: Zillah: Means Shade.

What Was Lamech’s Motivation To Enter Into Polygamy?

Partially Physical Lust.

Partially To Establish A Large Clan.

Partially To Increasing His Violent Patriarch Society.

Genesis 4:20-21: Key Word: Jabal.

Lamech's Children's Names: Wanderer, Sound, Pleasant.

The First Notice Of The Tent And Of Cattle.

- The Tents : Were Shading Canvas Of Goats Hair.

- The Cattle: Designated By A Word Denoting Property.

- So Now, Property Produced Prosperity.

Genesis 4:22: Key Phrase/Words: Brass And Iron.

Most Archaeologists Have Attempted To Organize Human History In Terms Of Various Supposed AGES:

Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Etc.

HOWEVER:

The NOAH-itic Record Indicates Early Mankind:

-Were Very Competent In Brass And Iron Metallurgy.

-Were Very Competent In Agriculture, Animal Husbandry.

-Were Very Competent In Urbanization.

-Were Very Competent With Musical Instruments.

-Were Very Competent In Bronze And Iron.

Handed Down From Ancient Times To Post-Flood Civilizations.

Modern Archaeology Confirms This High Degree Of Technology.

B. LAMECH AND THE DEPTHS OF SIN (4:23-24).

CAIN’S ATTITUDE IN LAMECH (4:23-24):

Genesis 4:23-24: Key Words: Speech | Sevenfold | Seventy.

LAMECH’S ARROGANCE:

Wonder Why God Did Not Immediately Kill Cain?

In His Grace, Our Creator Allowed Cain:

To Live AND To Exist Securely Under Divine Protection.

APOSTLE PAUL TEACHES: THE LORD POURS HIS KINDNESS ON SINNERS TO DRIVE THEM TO REPENTANCE.

Cain Should Have:

Repented Of His Sin.

Responded Differently To God’s Protection.

Elected NOT To Flee From The Presence Of The Lord,

Not Built A Name For Himself And His Sons.

Not Built A Fort To Shelter His Family WITHOUT GOD.

It Exhibits The Humanistic Attitude.

Now: Lamech Is Born To Cain.

Cain Had Been Evil Enough, But Lamech Is Far Worse,

Lamech’s Song Is History’s First Recorded Poem.

Lamech Boasts In His Poem:

Lamech Blasphemes God Who Protected Cain.

Lamech Took Multiple Wives But That Was Not All.

Lamech Boasts To His Wives Of Killing A Man.

Lamech Punished A Man For “Striking” Him.

Lamech Responded And It Does Not Fit The Crime.

IN ARROGANCE, LAMECH:

Presumes Upon The Mercy And Kindness Of Our Creator,

Did He View The Absence Of Strict Justice

As Liberation For Him To Do Evil?

Did Lamech Think:

If God Protected CAIN with Seven-fold Curse:

God Would Protect HIM 70x Seven-fold In Self Defense.

NOTE: Lamech's Family Traces No Further Than 7 Generations.

II. GOD’S WAY (4:25-26).

A. GOD GIVES ADAM ANOTHER SON (4:25-26A).

THE GODLY SEED OF SETH 4:25-26:

Genesis 4:25: Key Word: Seth | Enosh.

Eve Gave The Name To Her Son: SETH.

Eve Had The Attitude Of Thankfulness.

Seth Gave The Name To His Son: ENOSH.

Seth: Means Appointed Or Substitute.

Enosh: Means Mortal Man.

B. WORSHIP OF THE LORD (4:26B).

To Call Upon The Name Of The Lord:

Normally Implies A Definite Action Of Prayer And Worship.

Originally: Practice Of Meeting Personally With God.

Now: Formal Public Service Of Sacrifice, Worship, Prayer.

This Indicates God's Personal Presence Was Not The Norm.

An Act Of Faith Is Implied.

Since Christ’s Sacrifice On Calvary:

In Faith Mankind Need Only Call On The Name Of The Lord.

For Whosoever

Shall Call Upon The Name Of The Lord

Shall Be Saved.

Genesis 4:26: Key Phrase: The Lord.

The Name Of The Self-Existing, Redeeming Lord, Jehovah.

There Is No Contradiction With Exodus 6:3,

To Call Upon The Name Of God.

To Address Him By His Proper Name.

With An Audible Voice In The Form Of Prayer.

This Is The Most Common Meaning Of The Phrase.

Remember: Names Were Still Significant In Early History.

BOTTOM LINE:

SETH-ITIC LINE: FOCUSED ON THINGS ABOVE.

CAIN-ITIC LINE: FOCUSED ON PRESENT THINGS.

Genesis | Antagonistic Unbelief

Genesis 4: 1 Thru 16.

Fall Study: Genesis 1 Through Genesis 11:

Most Recently: Mankind Receives Grace In Judgment.

Today: Antagonistic Unbelief.

Some Of The Topics In The Next Few Weeks:

Man's Ways Or God's Ways.

Reign Of Death. And More.

Summary Of Genesis: Establishes Fundamental Truths About God.

Among These Are:

His Role As The Creator,

His Holiness,

His Hatred Of Sin,

His Love For Mankind,

His Willingness To Provide For Our Redemption.

We Learn:

Where Mankind Has Come From.

Why The World Is In Its Present Form.

We Are Presented:

The General History Of The Universe.

The Establishment Of Israel, God's Chosen People.

The Basic Principles That Appear Throughout Scripture.

We Learn:

The Creation And Loss Of Paradise.

Adam And Eve Are Separated From God:

Their Relationship With Him Does Not End.

THIS CHAPTER BRIDGES THE STORY OF GENESIS.

FROM OUR ULTIMATE ORIGINS.

TO THE STORY OF NOAH.

INTRODUCED IN THE NEXT CHAPTER.

I. INTRODUCTION.

A. The Impact Of One Sin Upon The Human Race.

Hatred And Murder Introduced Into The World:

Eve Held Her Dead Son Abel.

Eve Knew Her Other Son Cain Was The Murderer.

Eve Now Had A Glimpse Of The Exceeding Sinfulness Of Sin.

B. Cain's Terrible Murderous Act Is A Picture Of World History.

History Is The Story Of The Wars, Battles And Bloodshed Of Mankind.

The First War Began In Genesis 4.

THESE VERSES, 4 THRU 16, COVER ABOUT 100 YEARS OF TIME:

OUTLINE

I. THE FIRST FAMILY (4:1-2).

II. SACRIFICE AND SIN (4:3-10).

III. CURSE AND MERCY FOR CAIN (4:11-16).

1. THE FIRST FAMILY.

THE BIRTH OF CAIN AND ABEL: Verses 1 Thru 2:

A. Adam Laid With His Wife Eve.

She Became Pregnant And Gave Birth To A Son.

She Named Him Cain.

Eve Said, With The Lord’s Help, I Have Made A Man!

B. Eve Gave Birth Again: Cain’s Brother Abel.

Abel Became A Shepherd.

Cain Became A Farmer.

II. SACRIFICE AND SIN (4:3-10).

A. SACRIFICE.

B. SIN THROUGH MURDER.

THE FIRST MURDER.

Note: Cain And Abel Were Undoubtedly In Their Twenties Or Thirties When This Murder Took Place.

SACRIFICE AT HARVEST TIME:

This Was A Prescribed Period For Sacrifice.

Sacrifice Was Practiced By Adam And Eve.

Sacrifice Was Taught To Their Children.

This Is The First Sacrifice Recorded In Scripture.

This May Not Be Their First Sacrifice Offered.

Note.

Adam And Eve Trained Their Children To Worship God.

Mankind Began To Worship The One True God.

Because Of Sin Worship Deteriorated Into Idolatry.

Man Has Not Progressed From Many Gods To One God.

Man Has Crumbled From One God To Many Gods Because Of Sin.

BOTH BROUGHT AN OFFERING TO THE LORD:

  • Cain Brought Of The First Fruit Of The Ground.

  • Abel Brought Of The First Born Of His Flock.

The Lord Had Respect Unto Abel And To His Offering:

The Lord Had NO RESPECT Unto Cain And To His Offering:

Why Was Cain's Sacrifice Rejected?

They Clearly Understood That Approach To God Was Through A Sacrifice Of An Animal (Gen. 3:21).

Cain's Vegetables Were Not Acceptable To God.

For God Was Teaching Them That Without The Shedding Of Blood There Is No Remission Of Sins.

Note.

Christ Who Would Be Slain For The Sins Of Men (John 1:29).

Sacrifice Teaches Us That The Problem Of Sin Is Very Serious.

It Cannot Be Handled By Good Resolution Or An Earnest Resolve.

It Is Not Settled By A Temporary Attitude Change.

Sin Is Something That Is Embedded In The Human Race.

It Can Only Be Solved By Death.

Cain Did Not Offer His Offering In Faith: Heb. 11:4.

By Faith Abel Brought God A Better Offering Than Cain.

By Faith Abel Was Commended As Righteous.

By Faith Abel Still Speaks Even Though He Is Dead.

AND CAIN WAS VERY UPSET AND HIS COUNTENANCE FELL.

The Rejection Of The Offering Caused Cain:

-To Get Angry.

-To Be Resentful.

-To Become Jealous.

-To Be So Upset His Whole Countenance Changed.

-To Hate God's Choice.

-To Direct His Hate Toward His Brother Abel.

-To Outwardly Reflect What Was In His Heart.

Note:

Anger, Hatred And Jealousy Can Grip The Human Heart.

These Attitudes Can Change The Personality Of The Individual.

These Attitudes Can Be Reflected In An Outward Appearance.

A Hard And Bitter Countenance Can Be Seen By Others.

THE PATIENCE OF GOD WITH CAIN: Verses 6 Thru 7.

The Lord Asked Cain: Why Are You Angry And Look Sad?

God Patiently Asks Cain This Question To Bring Him To Repentance.

Anger Can Produce Devastating Results If Not Addressed.

B. You Know That: If You Do What Is Right: I Will Accept You.

But If You Don’t: Sin Is Ready To Attack You And Control You.

The Lord Is Not Talking About Trying Harder.

The Lord Is Bringing A Proper Sacrifice Offering To The Lord.

It Was Not Too Late For Cain.

He Would Be Accepted Just Like Abel.

THE MURDER OF ABEL BY CAIN: Verse 8.

Cain Said To His Brother Abel, Let’s Go Out To The Field.

So They Went To The Field.

Then Cain Attacked His Brother Abel And Killed Him.

Cain Hid This Murderous Act Away From Adam And Eve.

Cain Could Not Hide Anything From God !!

B. Cain Rose Up Against Abel His Brother And Kill Him.

Cain Refused To Repent.

He Nursed His Hatred And Anger Toward God.

Cain Plotted To Murder His Brother.

Cain Thought This Would Be A Way To Get Even.

Note.

This Murder Began With Hatred.

Every Outward Act Of Sin Is First Lodged In The Human Heart.

All War Is The Result Of Hatred, Jealousy, Envy And Strife.

All War Starts In Mankind's Heart.

Only Christ Can Calm And Control The War In Mankind's Heart.

C. Cain Fathered The Ungodly Line Opposed To The Messiah.

Gen. 3:15: There Would Be These Two Lines.

Abel Represents The Godly Line.

Cain Was Of The Devil For His Act Of Murder (1 John 3:11-12).

THE CONTINUED PATIENCE OF GOD WITH CAIN: Verse 9.

A. Later, The Lord Said To Cain, Where Is Your Brother Abel?

God Was Encouraging Cain To Confess His Guilt Before God.

God Still Wants To Bring Him To Repentance.

Cain Answered, I Don’t Know. Is It My Job To Watch Over My Brother?

Cain Knows He Is Guilty.

Cain Refuses To Accept Responsibility For His Brother.

Cain Denied His Guilt And Was Totally Responsible For His Brother.

Note.

Guilty Men Run From Acknowledging The Truth.

Men Cannot Run From God Who Knows All Things.

III. CURSE AND MERCY FOR CAIN (4:10-16).

A. CURSE AND REGRET (4:10-14).

B. MERCY AND PROTECTION (4:15-16).

THE JUDGMENT OF CAIN: Verses 10 Thru 15.

Then The Lord Said, What Have You Done?

You Killed Your Brother.

The Ground Opened Up To Take His Blood From Your Hands.

Now His Blood Is Shouting To Me From The Ground.

So You Will Be Cursed From This Ground.

The Ground Shrieked:

For Vengeance,

For Justice,

For This Wrong To Be Made Right.

This Is Vengeance From God, Not From Man.

B. Now When You Work The Soil, The Ground Will Not Help Your Plants Grow.

You Will Not Have A Home In This Land.

You Will Wander From Place To Place.

Cain Was A Farmer Of Great Pride And Success.

Now He Will Not Be Able To Get Any Ground To Produce.

There Will Be Nothing But Frustration, Sweat, Tears And Toil For Him.

He Will Be Lonely Empty And Restless The Rest Of His Life.

C. Cain Said To The Lord: This Punishment Is More Than I Can Bear!

Cain Was Cursed To A Meaningless Existence.

Cain Was To Live A Life Far Worse Than Death.

He Was Hardened To Sin But Concerned Only About His Punishment.

There Was No Repentance.

He Did NOT Care About God.

He Did Care About Himself In A Selfish Way.

You Are Forcing Me To Leave The Land.

I Will Not Be Able To Be Near You Or Have A Home!

Now I Must Wander From Place To Place,

Anyone I Meet Could Kill Me.

Cain Is Obsessed And Haunted By His Guilt.

He Will Be Marked And Hunted And Haunted.

hen The Lord Said To Cain That If Anyone Kills You That Person Would Be Punished Much Much More.

The Lord Put A Mark On Cain To Show That No One Should Kill Him.

God Makes A Promise To Protect Cain From Society.

What Does The Mark Mean? It Is Not Exactly Known.

WHAT HAPPENED TO CAIN’S FAMILY: VERSE 16.

Cain Went Away From The Lord And Lived In The Land Of Nod.

Genesis | Grace In Judgment

 Genesis Chapter 3: Verses 8 Thru 24

Fall Study: Genesis 1 Through Genesis 11:

Most Recently:

Mankind Is Deceived By Pride. Genesis 3: 1 Thru 7.

Today: Mankind Receives Grace In Judgment.

NOW, LOOK AT THESE.

KEY PHRASES: VERSE BY VERSE:

THAT WILL SHOW US.

GRACE IN GOD'S JUDGMENT:

OUTLINE.

I. Divine Confrontation. Verses 8 Thru 13.

II. Sin’s Penalty. Verses 14 Thru 19.

III. Banishment and Grace. Verses 20 Thru 24.

I. Divine Confrontation.

A. God Seeks.

B. God Speaks.

Genesis 3:8 Key Phrase: Walking In The Garden.

This Is An Actual Theophany. A Manifestation.

Defined: The “Word Of God,” CHRIST: In His Pre-Incarnate State.

THE LORD JESUS IS SEEKING THEM OUT.

ADAM AND EVE WERE HIDING FROM GOD.

IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY BETWEEN GOD AND MAN.

Genesis 3:10 Key Phrase: Hid Myself.

Adam And Eve Were Ashamed Of Their Full Public Nudity:

This Shame Is: From The Awareness Of Sin.

This Shame Is: Lost When Someone Has Allowed Their Consciences To Hardened.

This Shame Is: Lost When Sensitivity To Sin Is Diminished.

Genesis 3:11 Key Phrase: Have You Eaten.

God’s Questions Were:

To Encourage Adam And Eve To Confess Their Sin.

To Encourage Adam And Eve To Repent Of Their Sin.

They Responded By:

Attempts To Justify Their Actions.

Attempts To Blame Someone Else.

Note: They Behaved Like Most Of Their Descendants.

II. Sin’s Penalty.

A. Serpent.

B. Woman.

C. Man.

Genesis 3:14 Key Phrase: Cursed Above All Livestock And Wild Animals.

God's Curse Fell:

First On Man's Great Enemy: The Serpent.

God's Curse Fell:

On All Other Animals By Submission To Man's Rule.

The Serpent Now:

Would Sliver And Slide On Its Belly,

Eating Its Prey Directly Off The Ground,

Covered With The Dust Of The Earth.

Genesis 3:15 Key Phrases:

Enmity Between Eve And Satan | Her Seed.

The Curse Was Directed Immediately Towards The Serpent.

But Its Real Thrust Was Against The Evil Spirit Possessing It.

That Old Serpent, Called The Devil. (Revelation 12:9).

Satan May Have Assumed He Had Now Won The Allegiance Of The Woman And All Her Descendants.

But God Told Him There Would Be Enmity With Him And Woman.

Seed Of The Woman:

A Future Descendant Of Eve Would Have No Human Father.

A Woman Produces No Seed.

The Bible Always Speaks Of The Seed Of Men.

This Promised Seed Would Have To Be Thru A Virgin Birth.

Therefore, This Promised Seed Would Not Inherit The Sin Nature.

Genesis 3:15 Key Phrases: Bruise His Heel | Bruise Thy Head.

Satan Will Inflict A Painful Wound On The Woman’s Seed.

Fulfilled On The Cross When Jesus Was Crucified.

But Christ In Turn Will Inflict A Mortal Wound On The Serpent By Crushing His Head.

Fulfilled When The Risen Lord Jesus Casts Satan Into The Lake Of Fire.

Genesis 3:16 Key Phrase:

Multiply Your Pain And Sorrow.

The Curse Specifically Impacted Eve And Her Daughters:

The Pain Of Childbirth: It Would Be Greatly Multiplied.

Genesis 3:17 Key Phrase: Unto Adam: Cursed Is The Ground For Your Sake.

The Full Force Of The CURSE:

Fell On Adam.

Fell On The Responsible Head Of The Human Race.

Fell On All Of His Dominion.

Not Believing God’s Word BUT Choosing To Believe Eve's Word.

It Is Always A Fatal Mistake.

To Allow The Words Of Any Person.

To Take Precedence Over The Word Of God.

The Ground Is The Same Word As Earth.

The Very Elements Of Matter Were Included In The Curse.

The Whole Creation Was Brought Under Bondage.

This Principle Of Corruption Is Universal.

THE CURSE WAS:

NOT ONLY A PUNISHMENT FOR MAN’S DISOBEDIENCE.

IT IS A PROVISION FOR THE GOOD OF MANKIND.

To Recognize The Seriousness Of Personal Sin.

To Realize The Danger Of Trusting Anyone But Our Creator.

To Understand Mankind Has No Ability To Save Self From Destruction.
