Genesis 3:8 Key Phrase: Walking In The Garden.
This Is An Actual Theophany. A Manifestation.
Defined: The “Word Of God,” CHRIST: In His Pre-Incarnate State.
ADAM AND EVE WERE HIDING FROM GOD.
IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY BETWEEN GOD AND MAN.
Adam And Eve Were Ashamed Of Their Full Public Nudity:
This Shame Is: From The Awareness Of Sin.
This Shame Is: Lost When Someone Has Allowed Their Consciences To Hardened.
This Shame Is: Lost When Sensitivity To Sin Is Diminished.

To Encourage Adam And Eve To Confess Their Sin.

God's Curse Fell:
First On Man's Great Enemy: The Serpent.
God's Curse Fell:
On All Other Animals By Submission To Man's Rule.
The Serpent Now:
Would Sliver And Slide On Its Belly,
Eating Its Prey Directly Off The Ground,
Covered With The Dust Of The Earth.
Genesis 3:15 Key Phrases:
Enmity Between Eve And Satan | Her Seed.
The Curse Was Directed Immediately Towards The Serpent.
But Its Real Thrust Was Against The Evil Spirit Possessing It.
That Old Serpent, Called The Devil. (Revelation 12:9).
Satan May Have Assumed He Had Now Won The Allegiance Of The Woman And All Her Descendants.
But God Told Him There Would Be Enmity With Him And Woman.
Seed Of The Woman:
A Future Descendant Of Eve Would Have No Human Father.
A Woman Produces No Seed.
The Bible Always Speaks Of The Seed Of Men.
This Promised Seed Would Have To Be Thru A Virgin Birth.
Therefore, This Promised Seed Would Not Inherit The Sin Nature.

Satan Will Inflict A Painful Wound On The Woman’s Seed.
Fulfilled On The Cross When Jesus Was Crucified.
But Christ In Turn Will Inflict A Mortal Wound On The Serpent By Crushing His Head.
Fulfilled When The Risen Lord Jesus Casts Satan Into The Lake Of Fire.

Multiply Your Pain And Sorrow.
The Curse Specifically Impacted Eve And Her Daughters:
The Pain Of Childbirth: It Would Be Greatly Multiplied.

The Full Force Of The CURSE:
Fell On Adam.
Fell On The Responsible Head Of The Human Race.
Fell On All Of His Dominion.
It Is Always A Fatal Mistake.
To Allow The Words Of Any Person.
To Take Precedence Over The Word Of God.
The Very Elements Of Matter Were Included In The Curse.
The Whole Creation Was Brought Under Bondage.
This Principle Of Corruption Is Universal.
NOT ONLY A PUNISHMENT FOR MAN’S DISOBEDIENCE.
IT IS A PROVISION FOR THE GOOD OF MANKIND.
To Recognize The Seriousness Of Personal Sin.
To Realize The Danger Of Trusting Anyone But Our Creator.
To Understand Mankind Has No Ability To Save Self From Destruction.
To Encourage Mankind To Turn In True Repentance Toward God In Christ.
To Trust God In Christ And Him Alone For Salvation.
Genesis 3:18 Key Phrase: Thistles.
All Of Creation Deteriorates In Varying Degrees.
Some Even Becoming Harmful To Mankind.
So, Think How A Host Of Systems In Nature Emerged:
Disease, Bacteria, Viruses, Parasites, Fangs And Claws, Weeds And Poisons, Etc.
The Physical World Is In Pain Waiting Its Coming Redeemer.
Genesis 3:19 Key Phrases:
Sweat Of Thy Face | Dust You Are And Dust You Shall Return.
The Curse On Adam Had Four Main Aspects:
1. Sorrow, Because Of The Futility Of Endless Struggle Against A Hostile Environment.
2. Pain, Signified By The Thorns.
3. Sweat, Or Tears, The Strong Crying Occasioned By The Labor Necessary To Maintain Life And Hope.
4. Eventual Physical Death In Spite Of All His Efforts, Returning Back To The Dust.
But Christ, As The Second Adam, Has Borne The Curse For Us:
As The Man Of Sorrows.
Wearing The Thorns AND Suffering The Greatest Pain.
Acquired By strong Crying And To Sweat Drops Of Blood.
Brought Into The Dust Of Death.
Because He So Suffered For Us,
Once Again Someday God Will Dwell With Men,
There Shall Be No More Sorrow, No Pain, No Tears, No Death.
Indeed There Shall Be No More Curse.
The Curse Applies To:
Man And Woman,
The Animals.
The Physical Elements.
The Whole Creation.
III. Banishment and Grace.
A. A New Name.
B. A New Clothing.
C. A New Home.
Genesis 3:20 Key Phrase: Eve And All Living.
The Very Name Eve Indicates Adam’s Faith In God’s Promise.
That The Woman Would Bear A Seed.
He Had Disobeyed God’s Word.
He Understood He Was Going To Die For His Disobedience.
The Wages Of Sin Is Death Has Always Been True.
Now, In Faith In God And His Word, He Obeyed God’s Word.
Adam Believed That God Would Provide Life As God Promised.
He Followed The Command Of God To Multiply.
True Faith Is Always Accompanied By Repentance:
Repentance Is Evident:
Adam Had Turned Away From Satan And Back To God.
Did Eve Done The Same? Desiring To Follow Her Husband Instead Of Leading Him.
Genesis 3:21 Key Phrase: Coats Of Skin.
This Action Is Very Instructive In Several Ways:
1. God Considers Clothing Vital And Made Them Properly.
2. The Aprons Fashioned By Adam And Eve Were Inadequate.
3. The Clothing Provided By God Required Blood Shedding.
Illustration Of Principle Of Substitutionary Atonement:
Requires Shedding Of Innocent Blood.
Is A Condition Of Forgiveness For The Sinner.
Genesis 3:22 Key Phrase: The Tree Of Life And Life Forever.
Once Again There Is A Divine Council Of The Godhead,
This Time To Decree Man’s Expulsion From The Garden.
Man’s Ultimate Restoration Requires:
Full Instruction In The Effects Of Sin.
Separation From God.
The Fruit Of The TREE OF LIFE:
Freely Available To Adam And Eve,
Not Necessary For Their Survival.
The Fruit Of The TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL:
Would Result In Death.
Prohibited By God.
Genesis 3:23 Key Phrase: Sent Him Forth.
Were Adam And Eve Reluctant To Leave Their Home?
God’s Personal Fellowship Interrupted.
But It Was For Their Own Good.
God Finally Drove Out Those Whom He Loved.
